Everyone has hard days. Depression is different: it’s a persistent low mood or loss of interest that sticks around and affects how you function. Knowing when to reach out can make all the difference.
Signs it’s time
Consider reaching out if, for two weeks or more, you’ve noticed:
- Persistent sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness
- Loss of interest in things you used to enjoy
- Changes in sleep, appetite, or energy
- Trouble concentrating or getting through the day
- Thoughts that life isn’t worth it
If you’re in crisis
If you’re thinking about harming yourself, please call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or go to your nearest emergency room. You deserve immediate support.
